Family | Waipu Cove
I have always wanted to go to Waipu Cove, I add it to my to-do list each time we drive from kerikeri to Auckland.. but we are always in a rush, or one of the kids is asleep... and no one likes to wake dragons. So when I received Alison's email about photographing her four children at Waipu Cove before their Christening I just knew I had to make it work... Now knowing and doing are two different things, and in true Jenna Young style I did not book any accommodation... but all the people attending the Surf competition at Waipu Cove were more onto it.. So onto it they fully booked out the whole place. So that is how Jenna and her family ended up at a doc camping ground in a borrowed tent... I thought hmm Jenna perhaps this is not a good idea, you already have to get the kids up at 5am to catch the sunrise... you need your sleep... will you get any with three kids in a tent - the youngest being four months. I managed to ignore myself and decided it was going to be fun.And then god smiled at me... My children slept all night, A L L O F T H E M !I think it must have been something to do with the christening the next day he wanted me to be awake for it.And awake I was.. 6:15am on the beach with this gorgeous family.Yes I know 6:15am, but look at that light! Totally worth it...A L I S O N you have no idea how happy you made me... Im always scared to ask people to get up early, the thought of you getting your four children ready for photographs that early.... it's one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I absolutely loved getting to know your children, each so different & so much personality - you're very very lucky. Perhaps I have gone a little overboard with the amount of images, somehow i ended up with 176 keepers... I will keep the christening ones private for you and your family to enjoy :) Blenheim Photographer / christening photographer / nelson photographer / christchurch photographer
