Little Hagley Park, Christchurch
BLUEBELLS... I love them. This time last year I managed to leave my 6 week old baby with hubby for an entire 10 minutes to photograph my daughter.. It was quite funny, we ran from the car, I almost dropped my camera, ellie was squealing and super excited to have some alone time amongst newborn chaos... I thought I would regre not taking the time to brush her hair, but now I love it, its funny how such a small thing brings back so many memories of what those first few weeks were like as a new mum of three... and to be completely honest, I think I'm only just recovering and feeling like I can actually venture out of the house on my own with all three of them AND my camera... I dont know why, but adding my camera in there is like adding in another child, its something else to watch and look after... But we did it... We found ourselves a lovely patch of bluebells in Little Hagley Park and had waaaay too much fun in doing so.So now that I have done it a few times SUCCESSFULLY I thought its only fair I share my recipe for a successful photoshoot with three kids and no husband... Always ALWAYS bring your Ukulele you can fix almost any situation with a song... The second most vital ingredient is bring THREE TIMES as much food as your children would normally eat given the same time period. A key point to keep in mind here is the colour of the food, never ever bring chocolate peanut butter balls, they taste delicious but if a spontaneous moment of cuteness arises your children look like they have been eating poo which totally ruins the serenity. So instead I made Bliss Balls with coconut, almonds cacao butter & honey - they were amaze, that along with enough popcorn (with butter) to fill a large bucket and you're SWEET! So at this point, I was happy... slightly disappointed that the Bluebells were almost dead, but still pretty stoked with the other images we made. So we piled back in the car and set off for home. Then i relised I wasn't even at Little Hagley Park... I did think it was quite small.. NO i was at some little side of the road patch of grass.... And there were the Bluebells!!! But as I had no more food... YES they ate all that, I had to rely on my children's niceness.. My daughter is nice, but only for two photos - so here they are - HAHA. Story of my life.NEXT TIME 4 times as much food as normal. Such a lady!
